Farmer portal: a record of your cows
A family that boards its cows at a shared hostel should be able to see how each one is fed and cared for, what she gave, and what was paid for her.
What works today, and what to plan around
Your Ojas account runs on this site now. The portal for boarding families is a design, set out below.
What works
- Orders and invoices
Everything you order from the shop, with its invoice and, for an order not yet paid, a way to pay it.
- Bookings
The places you have booked on this site, with their dates.
- Subscriptions and saved items
What you buy on subscription, your wishlists and your delivery addresses.
- Your data
A copy of your data, and the closing of your account, under Security.
What to plan around
- A record for each cow
Feed, health checks and each milking, kept against the cow and open to her family. The steps below show how a cow would join.
- A monthly settlement
The milk a cow gave set against the cost of keeping her, with the balance paid to her family. Here, payments are orders and bookings at checkout.
How enrolment would work
The four steps a family would go through to board its cows at a hostel.
A veterinary check and a tag
A veterinarian examines each cow, and she is given an identity tag before she joins the herd.
Joining the herd
She moves into the shared shed and is fed for her stage of life — in milk, dry, or in calf.
Milking twice a day
She is milked twice a day, and each milking's quantity and quality is recorded against her.
A monthly settlement
Each month the milk she gave is set against the cost of keeping her, and the balance is paid to her family.
